Tampa fishing charters

Tampa offshore fishing charters has been offering up some great light tackle fishing these days, and Jawbreaker fishing charters has it tuned in. Catching Porgies, Grunts and Triggers is one thing, but catching 12-pound Gags on 15-pound test is a feat not fit for the average angler...trust me!

Tuesday's half-day fishing charter, out of St.Pete Beach, came courtesy of past client, and friend, Perry Hubbs. Perry could not make this trip, for far more important reasons than fishing, but he did send his Dad, Perry Sr. and his good friends Jerry and Fred....and things went well. On the way out, I listened to Fred's stories about fishing in Indiana and catching fish the size of the baits that we swimming around in our livewell...boy was Fred in for a surprise. Check him out with one of the many large Gag Grouper he caught on the light stuff. Perry Sr. and “light tackle Jerry” did some damage as well, Jerry even brought his personal 'sidearm', a G-loomis rod w/baitcaster, and showed these guys the meaning of a bent rod.

Catch and release Grouper, Snapper, Porgies and even a couple of Spanish Mackerel made a showing. To sum things up,...the weather was perfect, the fish were willing and the crew went home happy...with the makings of a backyard fish-fry. Right on! And although it hurts to release as many true 'keeper-size' Groupers as we did-Jawbreaker fishing charters will adapt, and do our best to optimize the options that we do have.
