Tampa fishing charter

A 4-hour fishing charter in Tampa Bay produced some nice Spanish mackerel Monday afternoon. The wind was relentless though. Even in the protected waters of Tampa Bay, it was a solid 3-4 foot seas. But the 'Fortify' software group was determined to put some fish in the boat, and so was Jawbreaker fishing charters.

The wind was out of the south-southwest making it very difficult to troll the west side of the big bridge and the Egmont shipping channel, but as luck would have it, the fish were on the inside of the bay today. We trolled #1 and #2 planers with silver squid spoons and the fish were happy to cooperate. Look for the diving birds and watch your bottom machine for the 'show' of bait stacks. These areas should produce. Also, look at the size of baits that the mackerel spit up when brought on board...your lures should match this size.

Fishing in Tampa Bay has allot to offer these days. The weather is starting to rapidly heat up and so is the fishing. There have been many reports of Tarpon showing up around Egmont and the Tampa Bay bridges. King fishing the beaches of St.Pete beach and John's Pass, Maderira beach is in full swing and Grouper fishing is steady.

If you are visiting Tampa and have the itch to catch big fish, book a fishing charter with us. Jawbreaker fishing charters offers the best deep sea fishing charters in Tampa, St.Pete and Clearwater beach. Let us be your fishing guide. Happy fishing to ya, Capt.Dan
