Tampa Bay fishing is getting hot

Fishing in Tampa is getting hotter by the minute. With the new warming trend that we are finally experiencing, the fish are starting to do what would normally happen in mid March. Gag grouper fishing is hot! Red grouper fishing is hot! And Kingfishing is…..uh, I guess starting to get warm. We lost 2 fish on the flat-line today and got this ‘snake’ just for the show.

My clients today were from Michigan…go Wings! Check out John, Sean and Gary with their catch from the last stop. We hit several spots in the 50-65ft. depth today with water temps in the high 60’s. The fishing was consistent and it seems that the really shallow water grouper fishing thing may be over for awhile. That is 18-40 feet.

Anyway, these guys got to catch the first Kingfish of the season on this charter boat. As well as grouper, snapper, kingfish and of course, porgies! We got our limit of Gags and a few Red grouper to boot. Bottom fishing in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico has so many species to offer this time of year, and now the Kingfish are here. Don't miss out on the awesome fishing the Tampa area has to offer, book your next fishing charter with the Jawbreaker. We will put you on the fish! Happy fishing to ya! Capt.Dan
