Multiple species on a 4 hour charter fishing trip

Spring is here at last! When you can go out for 4 hours in the Gulf of Mexico and come back with a full day's worth of fish and stories, you know it's good. That is exactly what Mark Tinney and crew, Stu, Drew, Tanner, Tristen and Peyton did! These guys were on fire. The fish were extra cooperative on Friday's fishing trip. Flat calm waters and crytal clear skies made for a pleasant ride out to the grounds. The first bait down was slammed by Drew's very first Gag grouper, and it was a nice one!(check him out above, with crew)

We caught several nice gag and red grouper on this spot, as well as Scamp, Triggerfish and some of the biggest grunt I have seen...somebody is having a fish-fry. After a move or two, the bite slowed with the tide. These guys really wanted try for some mackerel, so off to the races we went. Deploying spoons and hardware over the St.Pete Reef did not produce a thing even though there were birds diving all around. The water temp was 68 degrees and looking perfect for the macks. Oh well, maybe on the way in we will see something worthwhile, I told the guys.

As we approached the Pass-a-grille channel marker, again, we see the gulls going nuts. Deploy hardware and bam! Fish on! Trolling hardware is a great way to cover an area and put fish in the box, in a hurry. After putting a dozen Spanish mackerel in the box, we decided to head back to the dock. This was a great way to end the trip and I knew that Jawbreaker Fishing Charters Inc. nailed it again. We pride ourselves in offering fun, family oriented fishing charters. We encourage you, take your kids fishing and create a bond like no other. Call Jawbreaker charters and let us entertain your next family outing. Happy fishing to ya, Capt.Dan
