The picture says it all! Check out Zig and Chris with the first catch of the day...Jawbreaker style! Chris was into a fight as soon as we started our troll over the wreck, this Barracuda put on a show for the whole crew, going aerial several times before the other top-line went off! Kingfish!!... I saw the fish hit the bait and in comes Zig for the double-header. Cudas and Kings baby...you gotta love live-bait fishing for Pelagic fish, especially in the Gulf of Mexico.
Honestly, after we boated the Barracuda and Kingfish, the bite shut down...I think the Sharks were on the prowl after their chance at a free meal was missed. Anyway, the idea was to do a bit of bottom fishing, when, and if, this scenario was to present itself. We anchored in 50 feet and the Red grouper bite was on. Unfortunately, after catching over 30 Red Grouper, we were not blessed with 1 keeper size Red. Is there really a shortage of fish, maybe? At least the snappers were willing, fresh fish anyone?
Hey, the idea is to go out and have fun, right? I cut at least 12-15 pounds of filleted fish for our crew on Saturday, and they were set to feed the whole family...bonus! Thanks again to Zig, Bob, Chris and his young ones, Andy, Alex and Allie...Happy Father's Day to you guys, and thanks again for fishing with Jawbreaker fishing charters, let's do it again next year. Until then, happy fishing to Ya!@ Capt.Dan
