Johns Pass deep sea fishing

It wasn't exactly deep sea fishing from John's Pass, on Madeira Beach, unless you consider 40 feet as deep. These days, a 4-hour fishing charter can be tough when you are looking for keeper grouper. With new regulations in place, Keith's "keeper" Gag Grouper had to be released on Friday's 4-hour fishing charter.(pic above) Oh, and about 5 other would-be keepers were lucky enough to go back to their rocky lair as well.
Keith and son, Zach a.k.a. Spanky, treated friends Dan, Patrick and Chris to a little tug-o-war with the groupers this week. The grouper bite was slow at first, but persistence paid off. We caught some very nice Gags and a bunch of short Red Grouper, and , of course...some big grey snappers. Yum! The flatline was pretty quiet even though we had some beautiful Threadfin for Kingfish bait. These guys did manage a few large Spanish mackerel into the fishbox though.
Ripping tides, approaching full moon, rough seas...there is almost always some force of nature that works with you, or against you, in the fishing world. The guy that figures out how to produce fish in these conditions is the guy you want to fish with. Jawbreaker fishing charters is that guy. Call today and tell us what you want to catch, we will face the elements with confidence and make sure your fishing trip is a successful one! Happy fishing to Ya! Capt. Dan
