If Amberjack fishing is on your list list of things to do this Spring...do it now! The harvest of Greater Amberjack will be prohibited between June 1st and July 31st in the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay waters. It's hard to keep up with the rules and regulations these days, but that's the scoop on the Ajs. And these fish seem to be everywhere right now...even wrecks as close in as the Betty Rose have a few bad boys roaming the structure, I'm sure.
Well the boys from Power Designs, in Tampa, made it back to the Jawbreaker and the fish were right on que. Big Amberjack, with a few jack crevalles in the mix, made a strong appearance...and I mean Strong. Check out the beast Jeremy fought to the icebox...way to go on your first AJ bro! The action stayed steady for a couple of hours, even with another boat anchored within 100 feet of us it was like a real life fishing seminar...for them! No charge boys.
Good times and big fish...the way it should be. Thanks again to Power Design and looking forward to the next one. Happy fishing, Capt.Dan
