Repeat clients are what keep our St.Pete beach charter fishing business ticking. Well, that and the fact that we catch fish too! Sunday's fishing trip was sent compliments of Dave and Wendy Walker of Clearwater. With family in town looking for something fun to do...what else, Jawbreaker fishing charters! We hosted Steve Maroda, brother-in-law Andrew and sons Cal, Matthew and Stuart on a fantastic fishing trip to be remembered.
I must admit that the day started out a bit slow trolling the Egmont shipping channel with very little action. We covered lots of ground just to pick up a mackerel here and there. I decided to make a run out to one of the many tankers that are anchored up about 15nm off the beach and as soon as we started trolling near that big boat it was evident that we made the right move. Steve fought the first big Bonito to the boat and the little guys went crazy. Check out Andrew and sons with their beautiful Bonito, way to go Cal!
Well, we worked that area for over an hour with great results. We managed to put 4 nice Kingfish in the box along with several big Spanish mackerel, oh, and a few Bonito for future Shark fishing expeditions. The shark fishing is turning on in the Tampa Bay and St.Pete beach area and Bonito are one of the best baits for these giant fish.
If you are in town and looking for something fun to do, or if you are a local and want to see what this offshore fishing thing is all about...call Jawbreaker fishing charters. We are ready to show you and your little ones a great day fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, right off of beautiful St.Pete beach. Call now! Happy fishing to ya! Capt.Dan
