Fantastic fishing Tampa Bay

Fantasy fishing in the Egmont shipping channel is what we should start calling it, and if you are looking for a trophy fish...look no further, really. With the amount of baitfish in the 'ditch', and almost everywhere else, it's no wonder that there are so many predators working the nearshore/offshore waters of Tampa Bay. Look for the bait pods and you are sure to find the prize.

This past Thursday offered a few prizes to David Springsteen and his crew of Mark, Kevin and Tom...and they took full advantage. Round one put us in the middle of a Kingfish feeding frenzy, and put Kevin on the leader board with a monster Kingfish-weighing in at 36-38 pounds...can you say 'money fish'? Holy Kingfish! After that, every other King that met the gaff looked like a peanut. We also tangled with several big Spinner Sharks, putting on a twisted aerial show each time before breaking line or leader, but we did not take 'no' for an answer. Persistence gave these guys a chance to bring a couple of nice Sharks boat side, we even brought a smaller one in for a few pics.
